1. Necessary browser storage
The website stores a small preference value named liberty_cookie_choice in local browser storage to remember whether you accepted optional analytics or selected necessary-only use. The private CMS and student portal use Firebase Authentication session state so signed-in access can function. These technologies are necessary for requested functionality and security.
The CMS uses browser-session persistence and signs the administrator out after inactivity. Students use a verified email/password account, but access to each submission also requires a separate single-use invitation tied to that verified email. The active upload session is closed after final submission.
2. Authentication and security storage
The student portal and CMS use Firebase Authentication to maintain sign-in sessions and protect account access. The current website does not use Firebase App Check or reCAPTCHA Enterprise. Security-related browser storage may be necessary for sign-in, email verification, session continuity, and fraud-resistant account operation; disabling essential storage may prevent the secure portal or CMS from working.
3. Optional Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics is initialized only after you choose “Accept analytics.” Advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalization, and ad features are configured as denied. Analytics may collect information such as page interactions, device/browser characteristics, broad geographic information, and technical events to help understand site performance.
We do not intentionally send student documents, document names, document contents, detailed application notes, or CMS records to Analytics.
4. Your choices
Select “Necessary only” in the consent banner to use the public website without optional analytics. If your browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control signal before a choice is stored, the site defaults to necessary-only use.
You can also clear site data through browser settings. Blocking all storage may break secure authentication, document upload, and saved preferences.
5. Provider information and changes
Google Firebase and Google Cloud provide the relevant authentication, analytics, hosting, storage, functions, and platform services. Their own privacy terms may apply to their processing. We may update this policy when providers or configurations change.
